Full Description
Chamberlaynes farm is first referred to in the old churchwardens accounts in 1630, but the Chamberlaynes Mill is probably older, having at one time belonged to Bindon Abbey, and the mill existed at least before 1541, when the property comprised one mill , 60 acres of land, 16 acres of meadow, and 200 acres of heath and furze. The later mill building and stream still exist.
