Summary

Four linear banks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Corfe Castle village. They are considered likely to be the remains of a complex of former medieval stip fields. Other nearby groups of linear banks may be associated with them (MDO31518 & MDO31525).

Four linear banks are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of Corfe Castle village (1). They are considered likely to be the remains of a complex of former medieval stip fields. Other nearby groups of linear banks may be associated with them (MDO31518 & MDO31525). These features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck mapping project. They are still partially visible as low earthworks on the most recent Google Earth imagery.
