Summary

An unusual rim of a green glazed pitcher of possible late 13th to 14th century date was found in Mrs Congrom's garden on the south side of The Folly, and the east bank of the River Cerne, approximately 100 yards NE of the 14th century Tithe Barn, Cerne Abbas. The fabric of the vessel comprised an oxidised brown sandy ware with a reduced grey core and remains of external green glaze with splashes of glaze internally.

An unusual rim of a green glazed pitcher of possible late 13th to 14th century date was found in Mrs Congrom's garden on the south side of The Folly, and the east bank of the River Cerne, approximately 100 yards NE of the 14th century Tithe Barn. The fabric of the vessel comprised an oxidised brown sandy ware with a reduced grey core and remains of external green glaze with splashes of glaze internally [1].
