Summary

A bowl barrow revealed during the clearing of undergrowth in the 1970s.In 1980, Leslie Grinsell and L Keen recorded it as being 5 feet high and 16 paces in diameter, and in 1983 this monument was reported as being discernible as a low mound. RCHME field investigation in 1986 was unable to locate the barrow, which lies within a dense conifer plantation.

Full Description

A previously unrecorded barrow at SY 99538221 has been located by Major D C D Ryder of Rempstone as the result of clearing undergrowth in the replanted Nelson plantation opposite the Rempstone stone circle. <1> SY 99538221. Corfe Castle 30. Bowl barrow listed, height 5ft diameter 16 paces. Visited by Grinsell and L Keen 26th June 1980. <2> This feature lies in a dense conifer plantation and was not located. <4>
