A few Iron Age/Romano British shale cores were found at Chapman's Pool (centred SY 955769) circa 1892. <1>
Waste from shale armlet industry, abundant cores cited by Mansel Pleydell in 1892. The cliffs surrounding Chapman's pool susceptible to slumping and similar mass movement processes. <2>
