Full Description
(Centred at: SY 97108010) Afflington anciently had a chapel of which there are now no remains. It seems to have been a free chapel. <1>
Mr Barnes who occupies Afflington Farm pointed out the site where a chapel is said to have stood. The site was surveyed at SY 97058015. Probing indicated the presence of metalling at 0.3m. depth. <2>
There was formerly a chapel at Afflington, called the 'chantry of Alrynton' in 1428. <3>
There are no remains or evidence of Afflington chapel in the garden of Afflington Farmhouse, the site being purely traditional. <4>
