An oval mound, 26m by 18m, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar to the north of Encombe House. It is of uncertain date and function although it's proximity to a small quarry may indicate that it is a spoil heap.

An oval mound, 26m by 18m, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and lidar to the north of Encombe House (2-3). It is of uncertain date and function although it's proximity to a small quarry may indicate that it is a spoil heap. The site was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
