Summary

A ditched bowl barrow, one of a group of three bowl barrows on a low rise. In 1970 this monument was reported as being 24 feet in diameter with a mound about 1 foot high, and damaged.

Full Description

'C'. A small bowl barrow at SY 87018545. <2> 'C'. A small bracken covered mound 6.0 metres diameter and 0.5 metres in height. There is no trace of a berm or a ditch. It has been severely damaged by tanks which have almost obliterated the south half of the barrow; no surface finds were made. A bowl barrow; surveyed at SY 87018541. No surface finds were made in the vicinity of these barrows during field perambulation. <3> No trace was found of tumulus 'C'. <4> Three barrows, including a bell, lie close together on a low rise on Highwood Heath. 'C'. (24) SY 87018543. Ditched bowl (?) barrow, 24ft. diameter and 1ft. high. Damaged. <5> SY 866856 - SY 870854. Round barrows on Highwood Heath Scheduled. <6> 'C'. Not found. Probably destroyed by military tracks. <7>
