Summary
A Bronze Age round barrow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs and Lidar imagery of Stokeford Heath. It comprises of a circular mound surrounded by an outer ditch.

Full Description
'A' - Ditched bowl barrow, 23 yds diameter and 5 ft high and undisturbed. (2)
'A' - Ditched bowl barrow, heather-covered and 16.5m diameter and 1.1m high. The surrounding ditch averages 1.1m wide and 0.3m deep. (3)
'A' - (44) - SY 87648857. Ditched bowl barrow, 47 ft diameter and 5 ft high on slight north slope. (5)
SY 873883 - SY 876885. Round barrows on Stokeford Heath. Scheduled. (see also SY 88 NE 12). (6)
'A'. SY 87638856. A well-preserved bowl barrow with a markedly flat top and a well-defined ditch, 2.0 metres wide and 0.3 metres deep. Overall diameter 19.5 metres, height 1.7 metres. 'A' resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. (7)
Barrow 'A' has been completely destroyed by quarrying. (8)
A Bronze Age round barrow is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (1) and Lidar imagery (2) of Stokeford Heath. It comprises of a circular mound, approximately 13.6m in diameter, surrounded by an outer ditch approximately 1m wide. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
