Full Description

A bowl barrow. Diameter 16 paces, height 3.5ft. (2) 'B' (SY 68049391) A barrow. (3) 'A'. A bramble and scrub covered bowl barrow with no visible ditch. Diameter 16.0 metres, height 1.3 metres. 'B'. A flinty mound, now under the plough, with no visible ditch. Probably a bowl barrow. Diameter 18.0 metres, height on east side 0.2 metres, on west side 0.8 metres. (4) (SY 68039390 'B') Tumulus located and surveyed. (5) ('A' - SY 68049414; 'B' - SY 68039390) Tumulus (NR) (Twice) (6) 'A' - SY 68059414. Barrow ?, about 48ft. Diameter and 3.5ft high, overgrown and much disturbed, on the summit of Wood Hill. 'B' - SY 68039390. Barrow ? Now a flinty mound, 55ft. Diameter and 1.5ft high. (7) SY 680941. Round barrow south of Wood Hill Clump. Scheduled. (8) Both barrows are now ploughed, with 'A' measuring 21.3 metres in diameter and 1.0 metres high, while 'B' measures 16.2 metres in diameter and averages 0.5 metres high. (9) SY 68049413. A bowl barrow located on the summit of Wood Hill. The barrow mound measures 20 metres in diameter and 0.6 metre high. Scheduled. (10) A small mound, 12m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. This is the possible site of a Bronze Age barrow. {1}
