Full Description

A possible barrow, found and reported by Mr Therley in December 1980 due north of known barrows and 20-40 yards outside the wood clump. (Approx: SY 680942). <1> On the western pasture slope of Wood Hill at SY 67969422, there are the remains of a probable barrow. The circular flinty mound measures 16.4 metres in diameter and 0.9 metres high on the north-west, on which side and in the top, it has been extensively dug away. Surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <2> A curvilinear mound, 11m across, is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. This is the possible site of a Bronze Age barrow. <3>
