Summary

A wooden bowl was discovered following flood erosion by the River Char in 1979, within a meter thick clay and mixed wood deposit. A radiocarbon date of 1130+-70 AD (HAR-4988) has been determined.

Full Description

A C-14 date of 1130+-70 AD (HAR-4988) has been determined. It is similar in shape to a 13th-century bowl from Southampton. <1> Deposit of organic material at mouth of river. <2>
