Summary

A circular mound is visible as an earthwork on Lidar imagery of Northport Heath, Wareham St Martin. It is considered possible this could be the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow.

Full Description

Two mounds on Northport Heath may be either barrows or upcasts from an adjoining pond. 'B'-SY 90418935 Mound, 13 x 9 paces diameter but no height given. <2> Probably upcasts from gravel digging. <3> SY 903894. Round barrow on Northport Heath. Scheduled. <4> A circular mound, approximately 15m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on Lidar imagery of Northport Heath, Wareham St Martin <2>. It is considered possible this could be the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow. This feature was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
