Full Description
A bowl barrow, no details given. <1>
A flinty but grass covered mound 15.0m. in diameter, and 0.7m.high. No sign of a berm or a ditch. It has been under the
plough, and there are no indications of excavation. No surface finds were made in the vicinity of this bowl barrow. <2>
SY 80378317. Bowl barrow, 42ft. diameter and 2ft. high. but ploughed. There is now no trace of a second mound (shown on OS 1" 1811) immediately to the north-north-east. <5>
A ploughed bowl barrow now 12m. in diameter and 0.2m. high; visible as a patch with lighter clay content and with little
extra flint. There is no similar soilmark or indication of a second mound to the N.N.E. Revised at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>
The probable site of a Bronze Age barrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1970 <8>, it has since been plough-levelled and visible as a soil mark <9>. The small mound (15m across) was digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
