Full Description

A bowl barrow, 5ft. high but under the plough. <2> This barrow has been considerably mutilated by ploughing, by rabbit burrows, and a hedge has been planted across the top in a NE-SW direction. The length of this axis is 22.0m., with a maximum height of 2.0m., while the mound extends to the NW for 5.0m. On the NW side of the hedge the barrow has not been completely ploughed. On the SE of the hedge the barrow is completely under the plough. It is still 22.0m. long but extends SE of the hedge for no more than 5.0m. at a height of 0.2m. There is no trace of a berm or a ditch. A bowl barrow. <3> SY 81508334. Bowl (?) barrow, about 60ft. diameter and 5ft high where preserved in hedge bank. The remainder is now ploughed out. <4> The barrow at SY 81508332 is as described by Authority (3) except that a track to the south of the hedge line has destroyed it on that side. Revised at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>
