Monument record MDO831 - Cross dyke on Lyscombe Hill, Cheselbourne

Summary
Earthwork bank- and ditch cross-dyke aligned south west to north east, with its ditch on the uphill side of the bank. The line of the dyke is continuednorth east on a different alignment by a slight bank on a scarp, while to the south west it is continued for 40 yards as a lynchet with a slight bank on it, then as a scarp for 230 yards.

Full Description
ST 73050113 to ST 73280138. The earthwork can be traced for a further 60.0m to the southwest as a low scarp but is otherwise as described by RCHM <1>. It remains in a generally good state of preservation, though vegetation covered.
Surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD in conjunction with RCHM plan. <2>
