Summary
A Lower Palaeolithic handaxe was found when laying a surface water drain on Broadway near Wildown Road, Southbourne, in 1931. The object is now in the Calkin Collection in the British Museum.

Late Acheulian. Now in the Calkin Collection. at the BM (No 1940-7-1). <3>
D-shaped hand axe, 4ins long. Sharp, with cutting edge all round. <4>
