Full Description
Middle Bronze Age Urn found 1934, Calkin Collection, British Museum. <2>
Urn 14" high, with overhanging rim. Found in June 1934, when a drain was being laid in front of the garage of 'The Slope' Headswell Crescent, Redhill, Bournemouth. The urn was inverted over a cremation, its base being about 2'9" above the original ground level. No trace was seen of a tumulus ditch. The ground surface was quite flat. <3>
Site of find now in private gardens. <4>
