Summary
A Bronze Age urned cremation burial was found in 1935 during the construction of Cheddington Road. The undecorated urn was inverted and contained the remains of a child aged about 7 years and an adult aged 18-20 years. No trace of a barrow was noted.

Full Description
Urn 15" high with overhanging rim, free from decoration, found on July 12 1935, by R Ford in a new road (Cheddington Road) adjoining Cox Avenue, Bournemouth. The urn lay inverted 20" above the original ground level in a brown loam resting on the surface of the gravel. The urn was about 3/4 full of burnt bones, dust and earth. Dr Cameron reports that the remains are those of a child aged about 7 years, and also of an adult aged 18-20 years. No evidence of a former barrow. <1>
