Full Description

A large number of finds of prehistoric date have been recovered Furzy (Latch Farm) as a result of gravel extraction, the majority of which are now in the Red House Museum, Christchurch. These finds include a significant component of Mesolithic flint implements including six flint picks, three Microliths, over 600 scrapers, 40 cores, etc. (1) The Mesolithic material from Furzy (Latch Farm) comprises 2 microliths, 4 tranchet axes, 2 picks, 33 cores, about 150 flakes an blades, about 500 scrapers and about 200 other flints, all in the Red House Museum, Christchurch. Two scrapers are in the British Museum. (2)
