Full Description

Settlement remains which were formerly part of the village of Buckland Ripers lie to the south and south east of the Manor House. They cover 3 acres and are much disturbed but include closes about 360ft long and of unequal width, bounded by banks 1ft high. <1-2> Remains as described <1> surveyed at 1:2500. They are under permanent pasture and comprise field banks only, covering approximately 2.0 ha. Centred at SY 65258242. <3> Medieval earthworks comprising strip fields and settlement remains are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs <2>. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
