Summary
A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure. The site is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946.

Full Description
A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure {1} . The site is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946 {2} and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
