Summary
A lime kiln depicted as ‘Old Lime Kiln’ on the 1st Edition and 1901 Ordnance Survey map, and visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs taken in 1946. It was visited in 1992-3 by Peter Stanier and found to be in poor condition with only some 40-59% still standing. Observations during construction of a pipeline in 1998 found the kiln, a rectangular brick building with a collapsed flue arch and well preserved benches, to be overgrown and damaged by animal burrows.

Full Description
The site of an "Old Lime Kiln" is marked on the OS 1st Edition Map and is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs taken in 1946 {1}. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
