Full Description

SY 7284 9249. A two-storeyed, brick built cottage with thatched roof at Higher Bockhampton, probably dates from the late 18th century andis noted as the birthplace of Thomas Hardy. <2> SY 728 925. Hardy's Cottage, Higher Bockhampton is a small thatched house, the birthplace of Thomas Hardy in 1840.<3> No change (see ground photograph). <4>
