Full Description
SY 58069383. During the movement of earth for a new farm road a quantity of RB pottery was found. The area was observed during subsequent cultivation and evidence of a predominantly late Roman occupation was found. The finds included fragments of roof tile, nails and much unabraded pottery.
In August 1972 a limited exploratory excavation was conducted as near to the earlier findspot as possible. Over 500 sherds of pottery were discovered along with a few nails. <1>
