Summary
A garden building or gazebo built around 1700. It is said to have been built for the 3rd earl of Shaftesbury. The two-storey building is square in plan, and has a cellar. Its walls are brick covered in render, and it has a domed roof.

(SU 04601106) Round House (NAT). <2>
(25) GAZEBO (04601106), of two storeys, is square on plan and has rendered brick walls and a domical roof covered with tiles and lead (Plate 32). It was built c. 1700, reputedly as a place of contemplation for the 3rd earl of Shaftesbury. The E. side has a plain square-headed doorway at ground level and a large sashed window in the upper storey. The N. and W. sides have similar windows; the W. side also has an oval ground-floor window and a plain doorway giving access to a small cellar. The S. side, without openings, bears a stone cartouche of the arms of the 2nd earl (Ashley-Cooper impaling Manners). <1, 3>
