Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A lime kiln recorded as ‘old limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2) Ordnance Survey map, and the 1928 revision. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who noted that most (60-79%) of the kiln structure survived in fair condition, and that the kiln had a pointed, brick-built draw arch.
