Summary
A World War Two type 22 pillbox situated on the south side of Limekiln Hill, West Bexington. The pillbox was constructed in 1940-41 and has brick walls 19 inches thick and 7 feet 6 inches long, with a reinforced concrete roof. A field visit in 1998 found that most of the side walls were missing, but the roof was intact although balanced precariously, being supported in only three places. Visible on 1948 RAF aerial photographs and digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Full Description
Probably a type 22 pillbox situated on the S side of Limekiln Hill with field of fire S to beach. Brick-shuttered.
Standard type 22 brick-walled pillbox, with walls 19ins thick and each approx. 7ft 6ins long. Reinforced concrete roof. Interior strewn with bricks from damaged walls. Most of side walls missing, but roof intact although now balanced precariously being supported in only three places.Labour In Vain Farm, on the S side of Limekiln Hill, West Bexington. <1-3>
