Full Description
A corroded metal spoon with flat leaf-shaped bowl and a damaged acorn or strawberry knob was found between West Bay and Eype Mouth in a field adjoining Cliff Cottage [centred SY 45609083] This type is said to be the common domestic spoon on 14th-15th Cents. and is of copper or perhaps lateen. [D.C.M. 1950.44.1. J. Rigg]. <1>
No further information regarding this find was obtained during field investigation. Neither the owner of CLIFF COTTAGE, nor the farmer of the field to the south were able to supply any details concerning this find. <2>
