Square type 26 pillbox. [Shown on OS 1:2500 sheet SY 6577 (1958)]. 150 feet along Pirates Lane, East Fleet. <1-3> A small square structure is visible on aerial photographs of Wyke Regis taken in 1942 <4>. It is considered likely to be the remains of a Type 26 pillbox associated with Second World War military activity in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
