Please read our .

Summary

Remains of former windmill. Probably 17th century. Rough coursed rubble, roofless. Cylindrical shaft, slightly tapered, circa 4m diameter and circa 7m high. Sundry openings at three levels, mostly with flush single stone quoins, lintels and weathered cills to small upright rectangular lights. A World War II Home Guard observation post was located in the mill from 1940/1. About halfway up the mill is a platform of corrugated iron, presumably shuttering for concrete. Possible loopholes have been infilled. A field visit in 2001 found it to be in a good condition.
