Summary
A World War II rifle pit located on high ground at Penn's Weare on the north side of Church Ope Cove. The site was constructed in 1940-41. A field visit in 1997 located no traces of this structure.

Full Description
Rifle pit, on high ground overlooking the cove on the N side. Informant: Gordon ('Boy') Male, who as a child played in these pits with other children. Recorder's photograph 526/E(37) of 2.4.97 not included. Penn's Weare, Church Ope Cove, Portland. <1-3>
