Summary
A World War II rifle pit recorded on high ground at Penn's Weare overlooking the north side of Church Ope Cove, Portland. The rifle pit was constructed in 1940-41. A field visit in 1997 located no traces of the feature.

Rifle pit, on high ground overlooking the cove on the N side.
Informant: Gordon ('Boy') Male, who as a child played in these pits with other children.
