Full Description

Torpedo Station. 3 x 18in torpedo tubes (probably 1915-1918). (1) Structures possibly associated with this First World War torpedo station are visible on aerial photographs of the north-west end of Portlands's North Eastern Breakwater taken in 1946 (2). Alternatively these could be structures that were reused or built during the Second World War. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are still visible at this location on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project (3).
