`Bridport 24th Nov: I have to inform you of the following losses from the gale of yesterday. To the westward - sloop UNITY, from Lyme to London; cargo landed with damage. (1) Captain Bennett received a gold medal for helping to save the crew, whilst William Porter and John Freeman, received silver medals. (4) Master: Pearce Crew: 4 Date of Loss Qualifier: A
The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
