Full Description

`The MARQUIS OF WORCESTER, Scot, from St. Vincents to London, is lost near Weymouth. Only one man saved. (2) `Lost near Fleet House. Master, 16 seamen, Mrs. Marden, her two daughters, a lady, a doctor and a young man passenger all lost. Only one man saved. (5) 16 December, WORCESTER, West Indiaman. The MARQUIS OF WORCESTER, West Indiaman, carrying 30 passengers in addition to the crew, was driven on shore during a south-westerly gale, at Burton Bradstock in Dorset. Only one person survived, a seaman who was so unfortunate as to die on shore of injuries he had received from floating wreckage. Times, 28 December 1797).
