Summary
Cargo vessel, 1831. 1831 wreck of cargo vessel, which appears to have foundered off Bridport, as evidenced by the wreckage washed ashore there from this vessel. She appears to have been on her passage from Youghal with butter, and was a wooden sailing vessel.

Full Description
`Bridport, 12th Dec. A tub of butter has been picked up marked with ink B Murphy, New Youghal, S, and branded on the side Youghall and QQQ. It appears to have been only a short time in the water. Several other tubs have been picked up to the eastward, and it is reported that an anchor stock and some blocks have been washed on shore to the westward. It is blowing a very heavy gale at south. The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
