`Weymouth 5th: About a week since was supposed to be lost near Portland with the crew, the D JAN, Adrian, Catch [ketch]: the cargo consisted of spirit of turpentine, as some casks have been taken up; one of the men was drove ashore near Portland, and by his dress appeared to be a Dutchman. (1) Master: Adrian Crew Lost: All Date of Loss Qualifier: R The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
