This may be a duplicate of MWX5124, details are very similar, but locations are different. Master: Blanquant Crew: 7 Crew Lost: 5 Date of Loss Qualifier: A Vessel stranded and lost in wind conditions SSW force 10. (1) `The CINQ SOEURS...of Bordeaux, Blanquant, from Odessa to Falmouth, drove ashore last evening on Chesil Beach during a heavy gale. It is hoped the cargo will be saved if the weather continues moderate, but the vessel is not expected to be got off; master and one man only saved. (2) LES CINQ SOEURS, a brig of 115 tons and a crew of 7 carrying a cargo of Rye was stranded in a wind SSW 10 on Chesil Beach, 5 crew were lost.(3)(4)(5) Alternative name of LES CINQUE SOEURS given in (6) Cumming <7> uses Cinq Saeurs, following auction records. The building date for this vessel is an estimate based on an average age at wrecking of twenty years. This average is derived from those vessels wrecked on the Dorset coast whose age at wrecking is known.
