Full Description

Survey History: 08-JUN-1978: Pontoon lies alongside the Spanish wreck ENECURI. Additional sources: BSAC Wreck Register No 014 (1) NB: Given the context of the number of barges, pontoons, etc. lost in Portland Harbour during and after the D-Day landings, it would seem a reasonable assumption that this represents a similar loss, and the date of loss has therefore been recorded as 1944. See records 832523-25. (2) Additional sources cited in source (1): BSAC Wreck Register No 014 A brass port hole weighing approximately 4kg. The object has no markings, and the glass is all cracked. The porthole was recovered from the seafloor in between this wrecked barge and the wreck of the ENECURI (see record 904648). The droit has been double indexed to the two wreck records, as it is unclear which wreck the porthole originally came from. (Droit 259/09) (3)
