Full Description
The Adelaide was registered at Cowes. It was reported as ' - on the rocks by stress of weather' and sank on 9 July 1853 whilst carrying a cargo of ballast from Kimmeridge to an unknown destination. The site of the wrecking is recorded as St Albans Head (2) and St Aldhelm's Head (1, 3 & 4).

Reference (4) may not refer to this vessel, but more probably to the Royal Adelaide off Chesil beach.
