1837 wreck of English schooner which capsized and foundered off Peveril Point in gales, on her passage from Newcastle-upon-Tyne with coal; a wooden sailing vessel.

Full Description
`Heavy gales during Tuesday night. This vessel made for Swanage Bay but capsized and sank a mile off Peveril Ledge. Captain, six men and a boy aboard. She had been a new vessel the previous Christmas, and there was a large loss of life for such a small vessel, some of whom must have been hovellers or trimmers.
