[Airspeed Horsa Mk. I, standard heavy transport glider; 1 of a batch of 636 delivered between December 1942 and February 1944] Tow rope parted, ditched off Bournemouth, Hants. [sic], 20.3.1944. Builder: Harris Lebus Delivered: 1942-4 Unit: 1 HGMU [Heavy Glider Maintenance Unit] Date of Loss Qualifier: A Daily Record 15/44 At 15.45 hours on 20-3-44 a glider crashed in the sea approximately 6 miles due south of Durlston Head (3)
