Summary

Unidentified seabed obstruction reported by fishermen. Possibly indicative of wreckage or a submerged feature. Aerial photographs of 1982 taken at low tide show the structure of a vessel, indicating that the feature is a wreck.

Full Description

Horizontal Datum: OGB. Vertical Datum: LAT. Method of Fix: PHOT 08-APR-1980. Foul area/anchorage shown in 50 40.49N 001 59.12W on Hecate photoplot (1). Aerial photographs of 1982 taken at low tide show the structure of a vessel in the area described above in (1), indicating that the underwater obstruction is a wreck. The remains of the frame of the boat can be seen over an area measuring 82 m in length and up to 17 m in width. (2)
