Full Description
Items recovered from the remains of HMS Landrail, located south-west of Chesil Beach: 2 x bunker covers (1); 1 x brass porthole with brass shutter 14" backplate 10" door with single 'D' turnbuckle on both door and shutter (2); 1 x deckplate 5 1/2" diameter. Inscription "engine room ventilating valves open & shut" (brass) | 1 x deckplate 8 1/2" diameter cast inscription " W T door lower coal bunker open/shut" (brass) (3); 1 x porthole frame and deadlight (door missing) made of bronze, approx. 18" diameter (4). HMS Landrail was being used as a target ship when she suddenly sank in 1906. (5).
