Summary

Lithic spread, approximately 140m in length observed along the north-eastern end of the route of a new water main. The material was of various periods, but with a significant amount of material of probable mesolithic date. Likely to have accumulated in this position through hillwash.

Full Description

A concentration of lithic material approximately 140m in length, and possibly related to activity further uphill to the north. This assemblage was subsequently found not to be in situ and comprised 'a jumbled collection from various periods'. A significant proportion of these finds could be assigned to the Mesolithic period. PROBABLY ACCUMULATED VIA COLLUVIAL AGENCY (1)
