Full Description
Packed limestone surface associated with animal bone and 3rd/4th century AD pottery and tile, possible ceremonial area. Post hole later used as rubbish pit associated with 1st century AD pottery. Linear containing Roman pottery, possible base of heavily truncated ditch and two other feature which may be ditches. Roman collapsed oven hearth (1)
Four geographically distinct groups identified with a number of satellite features. Group 1 - Pit, shallow ditch, metalling surface, trackway, pathway with kerb of boulders, 2 pits, foundation wall and curvi-linear ditch; Group 2 - 4 inhumations, 14 pits, 2 postholes and 2 ditches; Group 3 - 10 postholes; Group 4 - Early ditch, 3 later ditches, 3 post holes, 3 pits and 1 inhumation
