Full Description

No pre-modern archaeological features were revealed although a possible occupation layer was present immediately above the natural sub soil. This layer contained lenses of burnt and raw clay, burnt limestone and a small quantity of Roman and medieval pottery and suggests that settlement or industrial type activity is present on or close to the site. One medieval sherd may be a waster, possibly suggesting pottery production close by. A deep 17th/18th century occupation layer overlies this deposit (1)
