Full Description

Old chalk pits marked on the first edition OS map (1) Also marked on the second edition map (2). A small group of pits are visible as low earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs (3-5). They have been completely plough levelled and no longer visible on the latest Google Earth imagery. The features were digitally plotted during the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
