A sand pit marked on the first edition of the OS map (1) Also marked on the second edition map (2). A pit is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Newlands Warren (3). It is considered likely to be the remains of the post medieval sand pit described above. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project.
